We were on the road by 4:00.
We knew it would help to get in a couple hours driving, so I had a reservation at Valley Of The Rogue State Park, in Southern Oregon. Campsite F20, just a place to crash for the night and move on.
Most of the campground is closed for the season, so we had to get an RV site. We looked pretty funny, throwing sleeping bags on the ground among the campers and trailers. The site even came with electrical hookups, but we couldn't figure out what to plug in, and our own water hookup which was pretty handy.
Dennis sprung for dinner, at Paisano's Italian Kitchen in the town of Rogue River. We both had the ravioli and a glass of the house red wine (a good Sangiovese). The ravioli was served in a box, and the portions were pretty generous, so Dennis took some of his away for breakfast.
Back at camp we made a small fire, listened to the background music of the Rogue River and trucks on I-5 (very similar sounds) and had another glass of wine before turning in.
Three hours closer to our goal.
