We have been to their vineyard, and tasted their wines before. After a couple years fighting their way through the business regulations of Shasta County, they have finally been able to open a tasting room. This link will give you directions.
We took our friends, Don and Jyl. We have tasted together up and down the state of California, still, it is a little scary taking them to our little local vineyards because Shasta County is not yet known as a wine region.
That should be changing soon, however.
Denise and Layne are the owners, and they run the tasting room in their "spare time."
You know, all that spare time, between regular jobs, or harvesting, or doing the 1000 other things you have to do when you have a winery.
So we headed over on a Saturday, and it was really great to see them again. The unique touch about their tasting room is that they serve the pours in test tubes. You take a rack of tubes to your table, and taste them in whatever order, as fast or as slow as you wish.
We had the standard five pours, plus a bonus or two of some things they wanted us to try. Denise dug up some cheese and crackers (since we were negligent in that regard) and we all had a nice time talking and tasting.
In the end, what can I say?
It is still the same good wine they produced before (check out the links above) but in a cozy little venue.
Our friends were impressed enough to buy several bottles to take home, and we took the opportunity to restock our supply as well.
