I made sure to tell them my name is not "Bruce" and that they should actually read what people write.
I received this email in response:
Dear Bruce,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your experience with Avis. Customer feedback is always greatly appreciated to help us target and correct areas of service which might be improved.
Any difficulties or problems encountered by a customer are a concern to us, and we apologize most sincerely for any inconvenience you may have been caused. Please be assured that your experience was not typical, and the appropriate management teams have been advised.
Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us. Only by being made aware of a problem can we correct it and offer the high quality of service that Avis customers expect and deserve.
Sincerely, Nicole B Customer Service Quality Champion, Avis
I am guessing that they did not "...advise the management team..." in charge of reading.
And, unfortunately, I think my experience is all too typical.
You should fight back.
I did.
