We had my favorite breakfast again this morning, blue corn tacos. Richard and B (the people we met yesterday) with whom we are traveling to the airport, are off to a slow start this morning (bad food last night?) so we packed up and spent an hour or two saying goodbye, reading, relaxing and teaching algebraic functions to Richard and Gloria's son. After a hug, and a special parting gift from Gloria, the four of us hit the road. We made a stop for lunch in Todos Santos, at Hotel California which was cute inside, but the food was mediocre and way over priced. However, the great company and conversation made up for it.
Onwards to Cabo, where we had just enough time to get lost, get dead-ended, and then finally find our way down to the beach where we stood in the sun for a bit.
Ironic, no? The warm sunny weather arrives as we leave.
Cabo was nice for a quick change, but I'd hate to spend much time there in the crowds. Tons of time shares crowd the beach; you do not even need to pay in pesos. Just not the way we like to travel. It was kind of relaxing being out of the way in La Paz.
We killed an hour and a half in the airport before flying out to SFO and home. Same Virgin jet we came in on, I am again impressed by the extra seat room, but the lack of drinks and food (available for a fee) bugs me. Surprisingly fast trip through passport control, we just walked right through baggage claim and with a quick "welcome home" we cleared customs, and as we stepped outside the hotel shuttle pulled up.
Tomorrow we drive home, then start the long grind at work until our next trip, in June.
